Junior Business Analyst
Nomura
Nomura, a global financial services group operating across roughly 30 countries, is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join its Digital Solutions department within the NAM International division in Philadelphia. This is a 9-month hybrid contract role paying between $250 and $300 per day. The position sits at the intersection of business analysis and technology delivery, with a focus on system migrations and transformation projects within an asset and investment management context. Candidates with experience bridging business stakeholders and technical teams will find this role a solid fit.
What the role involves
The analyst will act as a go-between for business stakeholders and technology teams — capturing requirements, documenting current and future-state processes, and translating business needs into clear specifications for developers. A significant portion of the work centers on migration projects: mapping source and target data structures, validating data post-migration, and coordinating with technology teams to resolve discrepancies. The role also includes facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT), assessing the operational impact of technology changes, and developing and delivering training materials for business users. Proactively identifying and mitigating business risks tied to migration and integration efforts is also expected, as is gathering feedback to drive ongoing process improvement.
What they're looking for
Nomura is seeking someone with hands-on experience in transformation or migration projects and a solid analytical foundation. Key requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related discipline
- 2–4+ years of experience in system migrations, data transitions, or similar transformation work
- Demonstrated knowledge of Agile business analysis methodologies
- Proficiency in documentation tools including Confluence and DrawIO
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel and basic SQL
- Experience with project management platforms like Jira and ServiceNow
- Stakeholder management experience in cross-functional environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Investment Management or Asset Management industry is a plus
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving project environments
Additional details
The position is based in Nomura's Philadelphia office on a hybrid schedule. It is a 9-month contract engagement, not a permanent role. The listed daily pay rate of $250–$300 may vary based on experience and other individual factors.
